ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT IN AUSTRALIA MORE THAN 20,000 PEOPLE ARE LIVING ON THE STREETS, SOME AS YOUNG AS 12 YEARS
In a typical week, The Salvation Army will provide people in need with 180,000 meals and 20,000 food vouchers. They also distribute 600 blankets, help 440 people in the prison and courts system, and place 3,500 people in jobs. Over the next 7 days the Salvos will help 800 victims of abuse, provide counselling services for 4,000 people, and help 1,200 people with substance abuse issues.
